Agenda for Community Change
Our goal at United Way is to create long-lasting impact. We concentrate our resources on making measurable change in specific, targeted priority areas of education, income (financial stability), and health. These are the building blocks of a good life. We also focus on building a strong foundation of safety net services, ensuring food, clothing and shelter to families in South Mississippi.

Community Impact is:
- Identifying, addressing and solving specific issues in the areas of Education, Income, and Health that no single donor, charity, or government agency can handle alone.
- Bringing key partners to the table to problem solve with a community-wide focus, not just single issues.
- Improving the lives of all people affected by our community's priority issues, not just those served by individual programs.
- Bringing the community together to focus on these pressing issues to achieve measurable results.
In the first year of our three-year grant cycle (2010-2013), United Way of South Mississippi invested $785,117 in local programs addressing the most pressing issues in our community in the above priority areas. Click here to see the full list of programs your donations are supporting.
It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future for us all. Give. Advocate. Volunteer.
That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.
