Our Work in Education

Education is the cornerstone of individual and community success. It's essential to getting and keeping a job with a livable wage and health benefits. And it's fundamental to our community's economic prosperity: a well-educated workforce attracts good jobs. That means making sure our children are:

Ready to enter school - Children achieve appropriate physical, social and emotional milestones. Intended result: Children enter school developmentally on track in terms of literacy and social, emotional and intellectial skills.

Academically successful - Children and youth receive positive support to gain age appropriate knowledge and skills. Intended result: Students are prepared to succeed in later grades.

Productively engaged - Our children and youth (ages 6-18) develop assets and competencies during non-school hours. Intended result: Children and youth have the skills to resist risky behaviors.
